In March 2024, Dr. Ian Rowen of National Taiwan Normal University delivered an intensive course to postgraduate students at Kyushu University on the topic Encountering Taiwan. This covered a range of transdisciplinary Taiwan studies scholarship, including research on transitional justice and literature, social movements and social activism, and tourism and geopolitics. The lectures were complemented by film showings and classroom discussion.
